Winter Solstice 2025 and New Moon in Sagittarius

The New Moon in Sagittarius on December 19th and the Winter Solstice just two days later offer us a moment to focus on our journey, our wisdom, and our faith in what is to come.

Sagittarius is concerned with the path of understanding. Our questions are big - What is the ultimate meaning of life?  What is my reason for existence? What is my purpose here? Where am I going? These questions are pursued throughout our lives and so, we evolve in our understanding, continually becoming wiser. The focus is the journey. We practice curiosity, persistence, patience, and faith that the ever-elusive and expanding answers will enlighten us. And they do. Then comes the next level of questions to be answered and our expansion continues.

On the Winter Solstice, during the longest night of the year, we are given a moment to pause. Release the frantic preparations for the holiday for now.  We’re invited to wrap the darkness around us like a blanket as we embrace the balance of the moment and ponder its meaning. We exhale and harness not knowing as an opportunity for growth. In this stillness, we have faith in the slow, steady return of the light. It’s not dramatic; the light builds slowly, just as our own wisdom does.

Together, this New Moon and Solstice offer a profound message:

  • Rest in the not-knowing without judgment, but with anticipation of new understanding.

  • Set intentions rooted in meaning, not urgency.

You are not behind. You are becoming.
