Full Moon in Capricorn
Full Moons exist on an axis of opposite signs that are meant to be integrated. The opposite sign from Capricorn is Cancer. One standard and completely valid way to read this axis is that balance is needed between home life and professional life. This interpretation may resonate with some of us right now. If so, work with that. I have a different approach.
Full Moons are times of intuitive and emotional culmination and release. With the Sun in Cancer, we’ve been influenced to examine our purpose through felt experience. Then, the Full Moon illuminates feelings we may have kept hidden from ourselves. Feelings that get in the way of our growth.
The sign of Cancer symbolizes our emotional home - where we experience emotional safety, deeper emotional awareness, and encouragement to grow. Cancer lets us know when we are not taking care of ourselves and helps us hold space for ourselves as we peel back the layers of old stories we’ve internalized to find the new story we want to write.
During the Capricorn Full Moon, we learn what we need in order to actualize our next chapter. Capricorn’s energy provides the tools to thoughtfully build what we want in our lives. Capricorn strengthens our ability to act with responsibility, discipline, and authenticity. It helps us get organized, create structure, and set boundaries. This Full Moon encourages taking ownership of our lives with greater awareness of our emotional needs and desires.
This is when we pull together our heightened emotional awareness with Capricorn’s toolbox in order to build a life that holds meaning for us and makes a purposeful contribution to the world. We are called to no longer look to others or listen to negative thoughts to define our success. We redefine success on our own terms.
Reflection:
What limiting old stories are you ready to release?
What would make your life feel more meaningful?
In what ways have you taken ownership for the direction of your life?
Where do you need the most support for building your next chapter? Responsibility? Discipline? Authenticity? Structure? Organization? Boundaries?
Who can you ask for support?
